1. Restaurante Tagoror (Barranco de Guayadeque)
This place is, quite literally, on another level. Why? Because it’s inside a cave. Yes, a real cave, right in the heart of Barranco de Guayadeque, one of the most stunning spots on the island. Back in the day, the indigenous people of Gran Canaria lived in caves, and even today, many locals still call these cave-homes their own thanks to their natural advantages. (Maybe the Hobbits stole the idea, huh?)
Here, you won’t just enjoy typical Canarian dishes like papas arrugadas, carne de cochino, or gofio escaldado. You’ll also feel like you’re dining inside a slice of history. Did you know this ravine was once home to the island’s ancient inhabitants? It’s the perfect mix of tradition, delicious food, and breathtaking nature.

- If you’re into wine, watch out! They serve a sweet house wine (vino abocado) that goes down like juice... but when you stand up, you’ll definitely feel it. 🍷

If you want to eat like a true Canarian, this is the place to be. Hidden away in the peaceful village of Las Lagunetas, this restaurant is all about hearty, homemade cooking. The menu is a tribute to traditional dishes: potaje de berros, goat meat, and of course, some incredible local goat cheese.
What I love most about this spot is the family vibe. It feels like you’re at your grandma’s house—only with stunning mountain views. (In my case, it’s almost literal since my grandma was from Las Lagunetas, and I’ve known the owners since I was a kid!)

Anything on the menu! But make sure you try the puchero canario and their grilled meats. And if you can, book a table on the terrace so the breathtaking scenery becomes part of your dining experience.

Let’s get straight to the point: this is the place to enjoy fresh fish in Gran Canaria. Located right in the fishing port of Arguineguín, Restaurante Los Pescaditos is a must for anyone looking to savor the flavors of the Atlantic.
My favorites:
- Sancocho Canario (salted fish with potatoes and mojo)
- Grilled limpets (lapas a la plancha)
- A generous plate of fresh calamari
And of course, all of it tastes even better with a glass of local white wine.

- If possible, go at sunset—it’s magical! 🌅
- Take a stroll around the port after your meal; there’s always something going on and plenty of photo ops.
- Ask for Cris and tell them you want the fish with the most bones—from me! 😉
5. Restaurante Dedo de Dios (Agaete)
Last but definitely not least, we have Restaurante Dedo de Dios. Located in the charming Puerto de Las Nieves, Agaete, this spot is a true gem thanks to its laid-back vibe, fresh food, and stunning ocean views.
You can’t go wrong here. Order the catch of the day or keep it simple with papas arrugadas and mojo, and soak in the surroundings. The name "Dedo de Dios" (“Finger of God”) comes from the famous rock formation that you could see from here—until a storm took it down.

- Watch out for the portion sizes—they’re pretty generous! Order half portions so you can try a bit of everything.
- Don’t leave without a coffee or a traditional Canarian dessert while watching the sun set over the ocean. It’s the perfect way to end your day. 🌅
